Subscription Update Obituary

Mary K. Broadbent (Dederich) age 79 Entered Heavens gates on March 27th, 2017. Mary was born on March 21, 1938 in Richland County, Orion Township to Peter and Alice (McCluskey) Dederich. She was raised on the family farm in Richland County. Mary united in marriage with Leslie E. Broadbent on April 27, 1957. Together they were lifelong residents of Muscoda, WI where she was a devoted wife and mother to their 6 children. They were also a local farm, and business owner. Mary served on the Village of Muscoda board for many years. She was active with her husband in the local Lions club. In her youthful years, she was a league bowler for Vern’s signs. Mary enjoyed cooking for her large family and was well known for her pies having the best crust. Mary loved to socialize and could occasionally be found at the tavern enjoying a Packer or Badger game along with friends or family. Mary is survived by her 6 children, all of Muscoda. Shawn M. (Richard) Stevens, Andrew P. Broadbent, Anthony L. (Catherine) Broadbent, Scott T. (Mary) Broadbent, Phillip J. Broadbent, Jody E. Broadbent, 8 grandchildren,  Jaime (Kelly) Studnicka, Christa (Charles) Hadayia, Ryan Gaudreau(Rachel), Rebecca (Timothy) Anderson, Stacy Broadbent (Adam), Daniel (Casey) Broadbent, Peter (Lauren) Broadbent, Elizabeth Broadbent (Nikolas).  9 great grandchildren,  her sister Margaret (Jerry) Brown of Dodgeville, many nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Alice Dederich, her husband of 37 years Leslie E Broadbent, an infant son, grandson Steven Broadbent, and her brother John Dederich. A Mass in memory of Mary will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Muscoda.  Fr. Garrett Kau will officiate with burial at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of choice.  Online condolences available at The Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
