Mary Hendricks, age 97, passed away at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, Wisconsin on Friday, February 24, 2017. She had been living with her daughter, Sandra Connell in Neillsville since 2008. Mary, daughter of Clarence and Tessie (Hynek) Booher, was born May 12, 1919 on the family farm in Forest Township, Richland County, Wisconsin. She attended South Bear Creek Elementary School after which she attended West Lima High School. Mary was married to Archie Wallace in 1935 and became mother of four children. In addition to preparing meals, caring for her family and keeping her home in good order, she raised a vegetable garden. In 1955, Mary became partner in the ownership and operation of Park View Motel in Richland Center. She was divorced from her first husband in 1963 and became sole owner of the motel. In 1964, Mary was married to Paul Hendricks, who was a widower with three teenage children. Mary continued to operate the motel with some help from Paul when he wasn’t working at his job. In 1967, Mary and Paul built a new house with the motel office attached. Mary sold the motel in 1972, and she and Paul built their retirement home near Steamboat Rock. Mary took meticulous care of her home, garden and flower beds. Mary and Paul enjoyed playing cards with their friends, going to dances, going fishing and visiting their children. Mary is survived by her children: Mary Lou Johnson; A. Dean Wallace (Patricia); Sandra Connell (Jim Wedekind, special friend) and Tom Wallace (Karlene). She is also survived by her stepchildren: Paul Hendricks, Jr. (Sheila); LaDon Saterlee and Glenda Carryl. She is further survived by ten grandchildren: Julie Mckee (PauL); Kelly Kalin; Mary Beth Reed; Mary Brayton (Jeff); David Connell (Bob Wood, special friend) ; Cheryl Connell (Robbie Belville, fiancé) ; Michael Wallace (Annika); Scott Wallace (Shannon); Mark Wallace (Chris); Hilary Toft (Patrick); great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and by her best friend Eula Wallace. Mary was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Pete and Bob Booher and two half brothers, Tom and Tony Hynek. Her second husband Paul Hendricks was deceased March 1999. She is also predeceased by sisters-in-law: Masil Booher, Beatrice Hynek, Goldie Jones and Rosie Hynek; by her son-in-law: Kenneth Johnson; and grandson Todd Wallace. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Rev. Craig Peach will officiate with burial in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
