Subscription Update Obituary

Louis “Lou” M. Tomaselli (lovingly called Nonno) age 81, passed away in Spring Green on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Lou was born in Baraboo, WI. Lou had two passions in life – family and law enforcement. He attended the University of North Dakota on a football scholarship where he also played hockey and boxed. After college, Lou married Pat Fenske and joined the Madison Police Force. In 1971, he became a special agent for the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation. Lou investigated homicides and was renowned for his interrogation techniques and ability to obtain confessions. After retiring from the Department of Justice in 1993, he served as Chief of Police for Spring Green and then as Chief of Police for Sauk Prairie. Lou also taught interrogation techniques to fellow officers at police departments across Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife, Pat Tomaselli, 3 children, Gina (Brad) Nygren, Jodi Tomaselli (Tim Gloeckler), Anthony (Lori) Tomaselli, Gina’s children, Shane (Alina) Wedekind, Ryan Wedekind, Christina and Clarissa, Anthony’s children, Olivia and Antonia Tomaselli, 2 sisters, Evelyn (Byron) Tetzlaf and Betty Borgrud. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Angelina Tomaselli from Italy and a sister, Nilde Anderson. He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends. Lou’s family would like to thank Dr.Collins for his fine care. A private ceremony celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
