Subscription Update Obituary

Leslie L. Neefe age 89 of Bear Valley/ Hillpoint passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 following a brief illness while surrounded by his family. He was born on October 2, 1927 the son of Gerald and Olive (Bailey) Neefe of Birds Creek, WI.  He was married on April 18, 1951 to the former Agatha “Sis” Gruber.  Leslie was a heavy equipment operator doing road construction for 25 years and owned and operated Les’ Bar in Bear Valley for 10 years.  During his retirement Leslie enjoyed cutting wood, hunting and fishing on the Mississippi River until the time of his passing.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Survivors include his wife, Agatha “Sis” Neefe of Hillpoint, a daughter, Judy (Terry) Skelly of Sextonville, a son, Dick (Sue) Neefe of Bear Valley, 5 grandchildren, Paul and Nikki Young both of Richland Center, Joel Young of Sextonville,  Melanie (Michael) Olson and Amanda (Josh) Spurley both of Spring Green, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Dorothy Cox of McFarland, Virginia (Mike) Draves of Baraboo, 4 sisters-in-law, Kelly (Leslie) Mueller, Arlene Louis, Marita Gruber, Celia Gruber, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Olive Neefe, 2 brothers, Robert and Harold “Buzz” Neefe, 3 sisters, Charlotte Morris, Mary Burke and Shirley Kraska.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center with burial in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Loreto Ridge at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Friday at the Stafford Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.  Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.  Online condolences available at The Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
